Basic Info about Keno Online

Basics of KENO

Keno is an ancient Chinese game similar to lottery. Its rules are simple: the player takes at least 1 and no more than 20 numbers between 1 and 80. Each number selected by the player is called a "spot". Depending on the number of points in the ticket that the player selects, the spots change. That is, if the player selects 5 points then he plays a game of 5 spots, if he chooses 9 he plays a game of 9 spots, and so on. After the player has selected the number of points he wants to play and has marked them on the grid, he should put the ticket on the table, along with his bet. The dealer will always give the player a copy of it so he can keep track of the numbers he bet on. Then the game starts: 20 out of the 80 numbered balls are drawn randomly out of the Keno barrel. The winner is the player with the most overlap between their numbers selected and the ones drawn.

There is a video version of Keno as well; it plays a little differently that the traditional version but the basics of the game are identical. This version is usually presented as a coin-operated slot machine where the rules are the same, but the game is much faster to play, since everything is automated.

The minimum bet in Keno is usually $1, although some casinos allow lower bets down to 5 cents. The amount of money received by the winner depends on the type of game chosen and the number of points drawn that match. As mentioned above, the player can choose to play from 1 to 20 spots, and the more numbers drawn right, the more money you can win respectively. The maximum award varies from one casino to another, but at some establishments it can reach up to $50,000 for a $1 bet.
